Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to invite you to Philadelphia, PA, USA on behalf of the organizing committee and our President Palmina Petruzzo for what I know will be a very exciting meeting to discuss and explore the future of vascularized composite allotransplantation.

The meeting venue, the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, is an outstanding location for scientific exchange and discussion of many topics relating vascularized composite allotransplantation. We will explore the latest basic science discoveries and review progress in immunotherapy. You will be able to meet face-to-face those patients who have undergone face or hand allotransplantation.

Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, is an outstanding opportunity to enjoy social events, such as a visit to the Philadelphia Art Museum or the Auguste Rodin Museum. Rodin created the original artwork used in the logo of The Transplantation Society.

April will be a beautiful time of year with good weather, and as always our city has a vibrant restaurant scene. In addition to the scientific program, there will be a cadaver workshop held at the University of Pennsylvania Human Tissue Laboratory, which will allow a select group of registrants to participate in a cadaveric surgical transplant simulation along side of an international group of vascularized composite allotransplant surgeons who are experts in the field and have performed several allotransplantations.

I look forward to welcoming you to Philadelphia April 16–18, 2015.

Warmest regards,
